​The SAR Life Saving Medal, first authorized in 2017, is presented to those individuals who have acted to save a human life without necessarily placing their own life in imminent danger.  The medal is intended primarily for acts by civilians not in uniform, however, police officers, fire fighters, emergency medical personal, and SAR Compatriots are not excluded from receiving the award.​

The Fire Safety Commendation Medal may be presented by the National Society, a state society or a chapter to an individual for accomplishments and/or outstanding contributions in an area of fire safety and service. The award is not limited to firefighters.

The Medal for Heroism may be presented by the National Society, a state society or a chapter for acts of bravery.  It recognizes outstanding bravery and self-sacrifice in the face of imminent danger, i.e., acts which involve great personal courage and risk to the recipient. It is intended primarily for acts by civilians not in uniform but does not exclude police, firemen, and SAR member.

                                                                                The Emergency Medical Services Commendation Medal, first authorized in 2005, may be presented by the National Society, a state society or a chapter to an individual for accomplishments and/or outstanding contribution in an area of emergency medical services.  The award in intended for paramedics and certified Emergency Medical Technicians and others in the emergency medical field who have performed an act or service beyond that normally expected.

Annual Flag Day Award 

Each year the GJBSAR Chapter recognizes individuals for proudly displaying the American flag. Chapter members submit nominations for the Flag Award throughout the year. The Flag Award Committee determines the awardee based upon the proper display of the flag per US Code/Flag Etiquette, which can be located at the following link:

Awardee's are invited to the Chapter's June meeting and breakfast held on Flag Day, June 14th. the awardee's are recognized and bestowed with a Certificate and Outstanding Citizenship Pin.

Revolutionary Grave Marking

The GJB Chapter, and all of the Sons of the American Revolution, honor those who fought and served to help America achieve its independence. A Patriot Grave Marking is a service conducted by the Sons of the American Revolution honoring a Patriot from the American Revolution with an unveiling of a new grave marker or lug
